Dr. Bonnie Orr has written twenty-seven screenplays, two teleplays, and a TV pilot. She completed the graduate level screenwriting program at UCLA in 1998. Her agent, Mickey Freiberg, represents her on several projects and has optioned her script “Earth on Fire” to Lone Tree Productions in Malibu. Her latest endeavor was producing “Poodle Dog Lounge” (her TV pilot) this past August. “Poodle Dog Lounge” is in post production and will be shopped to HBO and other cable networks in January. Bonnie has taught screenwriting classes at Austin Community College, GSD&M and at the Writers’ Academy. She is a senior staff writer for ScreenTalk magazine, and does script doctoring from her website www.bonnieorr.com. She has worked in development for several production companies in LA, such as Nine By Nine Productions and Tony Blain Productions. Bonnie has received awards in five screenwriting contests such as Fade In and Script magazines’s contests. Bonnie wrote a sequel for “Contact” for Michael Gordon (Narc, The Devil & Daniel Webster). For the last three years, Bonnie has taught a seminar on “How to Pitch” at the Austin Film Festival. She has taught various seminars for the film festival every year for the last five years.
